"Podcast Farms: How to Podcast" is an innovative instructional podcast series aimed at inspiring and equipping aspiring African podcasters. In collaboration with ICT4D.at and Farm Radio, the second season of the series explores podcasting through a Zimbabwean perspective. It integrates English with Shona and Ndebele to celebrate linguistic diversity and promote inclusivity. I served as the host and executive producer for this season, overseeing the conceptualization of its style, sound, and content.
Goals and Mission
The podcast’s mission is to encourage storytelling across Zimbabwe and beyond by breaking down the art of podcasting into digestible, culturally resonant lessons. By doing so, it supports the growth of African voices in the global podcasting space while providing practical guidance for beginners.
Format and Content
Each episode is framed as a conversation between the host and a co-host. The host poses questions in English, and the co-host answers in either Shona or Ndebele, depending on the episode. This approach provides an authentic and engaging learning experience for diverse audiences. To ensure accessibility, the host translates responses into English.
